2005 - HAWKES BAY A&P SHOW EVENT - National Competition and Fundraising.
(This event was a first for us and it was a great success.)
- The National Competition and Fundraising Event is moving along very well and we are looking forward to many entries and our participation at the Hawkes Bay A&P Show has been of great interest to Artists around the country. The judging of the paintings coming in for this event will be held at the Havelock North Exhibition Centre in the Lantern Gallery. These works will all be on display and the paintings will be able to be viewed here from the 10 October until the Show, then they will be returned to the Lantern Gallery for normal public sales of these paintings.
After the display which the paintings will be available for sale for the first time and collection of purchases will be possible from the show on the - Friday After Lunch Only - so the interested and general public can view all the artwork going on Sale at the Show. It may be paid for and collected on the (21st Oct) Friday afternoon after - 4.30PM - or at the Lantern Gallery from Monday the 24th. Art of New Zealand Trust will be at the Lantern Gallery , Havelock North until the 6th November.
Other Exhibitions and Outlets we are involved in.
- We have opened an ongoing exhibition with all work for sale in the Grand Villa Bar at the prestigious Ormlie Lodge near Taradale just out of Napier.
On the 5th June we opened at the Tosca Restaurant, Hettinga Estate Winery for a month with an exhibition of work by the wonderful Dr. Richard Pike (94yrs old) who has been an artist for many a long year and at his age is still an inspiration to everyone who sees and purchases his work. He has always donated his work to a good cause, it used to be to World Vision and Conservation but now he has chosen to donate his work to the Art of New Zealand Trust. This assists us with funds as we sell his paintings so we can continue our work with emerging artists. The Trust frames the work and presents it for sale.
We also have another Artist in her nineties Rosemary Macklin and she has donated paintings to the Trust that we will frame and we will be holding an exhibition of her paintings and some will be on sale at the Lantern Gallery 10 October-6 November as well as at our other outlets.
Currently we are set up in a downstairs area of Blakes TV and HIFI in Joll Road, Havelock North.
We are also maintaining a selection of work at the Silky Oak Chocolate Factory Café and Museum in Waiohiki just south of Napier.
We sent quite a few of our artists work into the
'Affordable Art Awards` in July in Wellington.
Also up to ‘The Original Art Sale’ in Auckland.
We had 5 female artists represented at the `Women`s Work` Art Exhibition run by Unique Bay Events held in Gisborne over Queens Birthday weekend in early June. We also entered paintings at ‘The Extravaganza’ Pukeora, Waipukurau.
We are pleased to report we had sales at all these events which is wonderful for our artists.
This is what we are all about!
Helping new and emerging artists who are finding it difficult to become established and getting their work ‘out there’ to be seen a
